About The Role:
Gen3 is looking for a Red Hat Linux Administrator to support the MD Judiciary Courts. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing Red Hat Linux environments, ensuring system stability, security, and performance while supporting a range of enterprise applications. This role requires expertise in Linux administration, automation, troubleshooting, and security best practices
Location: Hybrid, remote in Annapolis, MD 24104. Three days on-site and two days remote, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Eastern Standard Time (EST). Must be available after hours as needed.
What You'll Do:
- Install, configure, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers across development, testing, and production environments.
- Perform system upgrades, patch management, and security hardening to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime and optimize efficiency.
- Implement automation scripts using Ansible, Bash, or Python to streamline system administration tasks.
- Configure and maintain Red Hat Satellite, Identity Management (IdM), and other Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) ecosystem tools.
- Collaborate with security teams to ensure systems are protected against vulnerabilities and comply with security policies.
- Maintain and optimize storage, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Support application teams by providing guidance on best practices for Linux-based deployments.
- Maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- Participate in on-call support and incident resolution activities as required.
- Setup Network File Server (NFS) and mount points.
- Configure Chron jobs for both systems and applications.
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or a related field.
- Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator certification.
- Five years of experience in Information Technology.
- Five years of experience as a Red Hat Certified Administrator.
- Ability to:
- Work in a team environment.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external personnel.
- Demonstrate leadership skills.
- Interface with users and helpdesk for day-to-day support.
- Provide Backup/recovery and networking methodologies.
- Troubleshoot at the Operating System (OS), database, and application levels.
- Knowledge of:
- Red Hat administration, including configuration and tuning
What's Desired To Have:
- 10 years of experience as a Red Hat System Administrator.
- 10 years of experience administering Unix IBM pSeries systems.
- 15 years of experience in Information Technology.
- Experience working in a complex networked system environment with strong networking.
- Experience administering Unix (AIX) IBM pSeries systems.
- Experience administering systems including, but not limited to, the applications below:
- Oracle WebLogic Servers
- Oracle Database Servers
- Progress 4GL/Database Servers/OpenEdge
- Apache Web Servers
- vSphere hosted RHEL Servers.
- Rubrik backup systems.
- Oracle Database backups.
- PeopleSoft
- Mobius
- Elastic Search
- Oracle OBI
- CVS (Concurrent Version System)
- Experience with Red Hat performance tuning.
- Experience with load balancing, partitioning, back-up/recovery, and disaster recovery.
- Experience working in an environment that requires 24/7 system availability.
- Experience with application development.
- Experience providing Red Hat Support.
- Experience with electronic Imaging Support.
